Cinefina was founded in 2013 by Richard Tur, based in Los Angeles.

Our Films

Our first production was Ajay, a short film about an immigrant contemplating his recent arrival in America. Ajay was an official selection at the 2013 WMM Fest Hollywood Fringe Festival.

Mission 8 was also released in 2013 about a couple indoctrinated into a cult. Based on a true story, the short film reveals a common tactic called love bombing that cults use to convert unsuspecting new members.

We produced and edited a documentary on the life and times of family patriarch, Marvin Baker Schaffer. Executive produced by his family in 2015, the film explores the family dynamic of mid-century America. The stories about his life, told in his own words, is preserved for his family and their future generations.

Our first feature film, Miriam Graves, premiered at the 2019 Independent Filmmakers Showcase Los Angeles Film Festival. The film was nominated for Best Picture and won for Best Thriller. The story, about a woman who believes she is being stalked by death, explores loneliness and isolation as a lived experience.

Production Services

As the democratization of filmmaking continues, Cinefina empowers independent filmmakers to tell their story. We provide production and post-production services for other productions, including location sound mixing.

Script Consulting

We carefully read your script and look for opportunities that allow you to deepen your story and characters. We solve formatting issues so your script looks polished. We help identity key messages and your potential audience that you can use in pitching and marketing your project. We can help edit scenes, dialog, treatments, log lines, synopsis and even brainstorm ideas to develop your story.

We also help identify ways of lowering your production costs. We resolve production problems before they happen.

Editing

We edit short films, demo reels, sizzle reels, and commercials. Our services includes cutting, sound editing, color grading, title design, and transcoding for online streaming, disc distribution, and DCP packages for cinema exhibition.

We also produce and edit professionally created reels for actors and performers ready to take the next step forward in their career.
